2 Tricks to Getting Even, Glowy Skin

2 Tricks to Getting Even, Glowy Skin
If you’ve seen the previews for (or already watched!) Blind Side, you’ll notice that Sandra Bullock positively glows on-screen. I was so impressed that I called up her makeup artist, Sarah Mays, to get the beauty scoop. Turns out that Mays used an old Hollywood trick: She added colored primers under the foundation to neutralize splotchiness. Mays applied KohGenDo Makeup Color Base in N Yellow to reduce any traces of redness and brighten Sandra’s overall skin tone. “KohGenDo yellow primer makes for the most flawless of skin tones,” Mays says. “Even where more makeup coverage is needed, this primer allows for a sheer makeup application…and the result is GORGEOUS!” A yellow primer works if your skin has a lot of pink or redness in it. Meanwhile, a white primer like KohGenDo Maifanshi Makeup Color Base Pearl White or Lancôme’s Makeup Primer minimizes pores and fine lines by diffusing light and adding a terrific luminosity to the skin—you can use it on your forehead, nose and cheeks for a beautiful highlighting effect. Once you’re done blending in, your foundation goes right on top. Bullock is wearing KohGenDo Aqua Foundation OC-2, but Mays suggests choosing a foundation that’s one shade darker than your natural skin tone.
