Koh Gen Do Face Powders
www.kohgendocosmetics.com
You can rock a Geisha-look with this tiny trio of fine Maifanshi face powders, encased in pink, white and red cups with their own mini powder puff. The loose powders are to be applied after foundation for sheer, natural coverage without drying. I love the Snow Pink with the touch of shimmer and Natural Lighting Powder will camouflage uneven skin tone too. Fun gift to give. Better one to receive.

September 2010 Beauty Round-Up ‘Must Haves’
By April MacIntyre Sep 7, 2010, 5:56 GMT
Where did summer go?The season here in Los Angeles was a strange one, not as hot as we normally get, a few days over 100 degrees, but whenever we get off this easy, it means our fall season will be hot, windy and dry, as fire season is squarely upon us.
Wherever you live, putting summer to bed and restoring your sun exposed skin and hair is in full order
Fall also means more attention to hairstyles and makeup, to properly balance the look with the array of fashion trends. Fall 2010 will see period smallscreen drama "Mad Men" ladylike 60’s looks combined with classic 80's silhouettes: Lots of capes, belts, fitted suits, Annie Hall straight stovepipe pants that are close to the body, ruffled feminine blouses, tunic tops, boots that go mid-calf to thigh-high, military touches, blasts of large bold graphics and dashes of animal prints. Blessedly, the ultra tight jeggings (jean leggings) are being phased out.
Monsters and Critics loves companies that use certified organic ingredients and that stay far away from all animals. The September beauty round up features some amazing lines of skincare and makeup that met our ongoing criteria of being created by American women entrepreneurs; items that are eco-friendly, paraben, phthalate and cruelty free and designed with natural ingredients.
Other items included are some bonus finds that delivered an excellent benefit, or in the case of the SuperSolano 3700moda hairdryer, the best hair blowout ever done at home, kicking our Target bought Conair dryer to the curb.
Monsters and Critics has put these products to the test, and we have come up with our picks for September 2010 Best of Beauty.
The products range from oral vitamin supplements to a cruelty free fashion bag for back to school by Yak Pak, their classic Terracycle Messenger bag made from recycled billboards that we have carried traveled with and used all summer long.
So with many things in mind, and the school year underway and the holidays here before you know it, please consider the beauty finds we tested below and purchase with confidence. All the products listed below are outstanding in performance and are recommended to be included in your beauty regimen (for the applicable skin type).
Tried and true, these clever products deliver what they promise and will not let you down.Take us shopping with you for the best of beauty September 2010.
Koh Gen Do Soft Gommage Gel
Koh Gen Do was first introduced to me by makeup department head Melanie Mills in the "Dancing with the Stars" makeup trailer. Their gentle skincare from Japan was a go-to staple for many to cleanse and protect their skin. The line has expanded and now moved into retailers like Barneys. The company sent M&C their latest peeling Gommage Gel which is abrasive-free and made with White Birch sap juice and rosemary and sage extracts.
The clear gel is applied to clean skin and worked in circular sweeps all over (you can actually see the dead stuff coming off in the gel suspension). It was designed for the Rosacea afflicted people who need that gentle exfoliant, minus the walnut and apricot seed grit that scratches and scrapes off the epidermis in so many bargain brands. Paraben free, no fragrance or colors or petroleum products in it; this gentle exfoliant is a godsend for sensitive skins.
